Our Values

We honor each individual's autonomy in choosing their treatment options, goals, and life direction, recognizing that true growth comes from within rather than from outside intervention. • Specialized Therapy

Life presents us with many challenges that we are not always equipped to deal with. These challenges are not moments that identify our weaknesses. Instead, they present opportunities for us to become stronger as a result of overcoming them.

The therapy process is a great way to ensure that life’s challenges are not what defines us as individuals, but instead makes us stronger and more prepared to live happier and more fruitful lives. Therapy can also serve as a preventative measure to ensure that our lives remain productive and that we maintain an awareness of how stressors could be impacting ourselves and our loved ones.

When people think about their health they often focus on their physical being. However, without the mind the body cannot follow. The therapy process is the key to living a truly healthy life. Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Here at Core Counseling Connections we are dedicated to our clients both mental and emotional health. Core Counseling Connections is Arizona's top mental and emotional therapy, offering weekend appointments, Telehealth sessions and accepting insurance! Contact us today. Click Here!

  • Couples therapy

Relationships can suffer because of past traumas, communication breakdowns and other types of hurdles. One of the best ways to move past a relationship problem is by working with an experienced therapist. If you want to strengthen your connection to your partner, depend on Core Counseling Connections for couples therapy services in the state of Arizona. We specialize in serving couples: JoAnn is a level 3 Gottman trained therapist. Skills will be taught, help build trust, commitment, friendship, positive regard, conflict management and shared meaning.

The Gottman method of couples therapy is based on research by dr.’s John and Julie Gottman, to help couples think about what makes the relationship work well, and what makes relationships fail by using their sound relationship house theory. The approach deals with couples’ conflict and it’s resolution, but also extends beyond the conflict into everyday aspects of couples interactions through building and repairing the couples friendship and love.

         • It’s an effective couples therapy focused on emotion and dysfunctional negative patterns and cycles.
         • Focuses on emotional repair and building safety, trust, bonding, love, intimacy, friendship, and positive effects.
         • It’s a behavioral couple’s therapy focused on changing interactional patterns.
         • It’s an existentially based couples therapy, both in its approach to gridlock conflict.
         • It’s cognitive couple therapy, focused on how couples think about their relationship, and how they feel about feelings.
         • It’s a narrative therapy, focused on the stories the partners tell themselves.
         • It is a psychodynamic couples therapy, based upon specific aspects of analysis of the role the
primary family relationships play in the here and now of interactions between the couple.
